Definition and concepts |
Definition: Bilateral agreements in the area of social security represent tools meant to ensure a set of social guarantees and protection for migrant workers and their families, who perform or had performed a working activity and/or domicile on the territory of one or both contracting states. Bilateral social security agreements ensure protection against the following social risks (defined according to the ILO Convention No. 102/1952 on minimal norms of social security): old age, temporary work incapacity, disability, maternity, unemployment, loss of carer, death. |
