Competent authorities include police, prosecutor services, and other authorities with the mandate to investigate relevant crimes, while “other officially recognised mechanisms for conflict settlement” may include a variety of institutions with a role in informal justice or in the process of litigation settlement (for instance, civil society organizations, church, mayors, community leaders, for instance Roma community leader), conditioned that their role will be officially recognised by the state authorities |

Number of victims of violence, over the last 12 months, who lodged a compliant with the competent authorities or other officially recognised mechanisms for conflict settlement, out of the total number of declared victims of violence *100. The number of violence victims, as well as the total number of victims of violence crime are estimated based on general population surveys, most frequently specialised surveys related to victimization. |
