Air pollution is one of the highest risks for health. According to WHO data, the combined effects of ambient air pollution (of air in indoor and outdoor households area) determines over 7 million premature deaths on annual basis. The biggest burden is supported by populations of countries with small and medium revenues. |

Number of deaths attributed to the common effects of household and ambient air pollution during one year out of the total population *100.000. To calculate the indicator, the following diseases are considered: acute respiratory infections (estimated for all ages); cerebrovascular diseases in adults (estimated in persons over 25 years old); ischaemic heart diseases in adults (estimated in persons over 25 years old); chronic obstructive lung diseases in adults (estimated in persons over 25 years old); and lung cancer in adults (estimated in persons over 25 years old). |
