Indicator |
Indicator 6.3.1: Proportion of wastewater sufficiently treated out of all discharged water, non-residential sector |
---|---|
Definition and concepts |
Wastewater - water originating from domestic, social and economic activities, containing pollutants or residues that alter its initial physical, chemical and bacteriological characteristics. Sufficient treatment - the treatment of water by any process and/or system, which after discharge of waste water allows the receivers to meet the relevant quality objectives in the technical norms and in the water management notices and authorizations in force. |
Unit of measure |
Percent, % |
Method of computation |
Volume of wastewater sufficiently treated / total volume of collected/discharge wastewater *100. |
Comparability with global indicator |
As compared to the global indicator, the national indicator includes only the water collected through the centralised collection systems (off-site) and not through the non-centralised system (on-site), the denominator provides only for total collected/discharged wastewater, and not total wastewater. |
