Definition and concepts

Bank’s subdivisions: branches, representation offices, agencies, foreign currency exchange offices. The bank’s branch carries out on behalf of the bank all or some of the activities envisaged in the license issued to the bank and acts within the limits of the powers provided by the bank. The representative office of the bank is not entitled to carry out activities envisaged in the license issued to the back and other activities, except for the information, representation and defence of bank’s interests. The agency may carry out activities (including those with foreign exchange offices) determined by the bank in line with the list of activities established in the held license, in the normative acts of the National Bank of Moldova. The foreign currency exchange office carries out its activity in line with Law No. 62/2008 on foreign currency regulation.
