Definition and concepts |
The indicator refers to the number of bank accounts opened on the names of individuals by commercial banks licensed by the NBM. Bank account - analytical account opened by the bank on the name of the account holder, through which receipt and payment operations are made. The direct relations between the bank and the client are reflected in the opened bank accounts so as to keep the records about the relations between the bank and every client. The bank accounts which may be opened for clients are grouped in three major categories: current accounts, deposit accounts and loan accounts. |

Comparability with global indicator |
The global indicator is calculated once per 3 years based on the data of the individual surveys from every country, while the national indicator is suggested to be calculated based on administrative data of the National Bank. By its nature, the indicator is complementary to the global one. |
