Definition and concepts |
Work accident - an event that produced violent injury of the employee's body as a result of actions of some risk factors related to an element of the labour system (executor, work tasks, production means, work environment), leading to temporary (3 days or more) or permanent loss of employee's workability or death of the employee. Fatal accident - an event which caused, immediately or after a certain time interval from its occurrence, the death of the employee. |

Comparability with global indicator |
Fatal accidents (according to the international definition) are the accidents that have led to the death of the person during one year since the day the accident occurred, the RM legislation does not specify the period ”fatal accident - an event that has caused, immediately or after a certain time since its occurrence, the death of the employee ...” They do not include the own account employees and those from informal sector. |
