Definition and concepts

Passenger record expresses the volume of passenger transport (in passengers-km) and is determined based on the number of transported passengers and the effective distance in km travelled by every passenger by types of vehicles.

Note: global metadata recommend reporting the indicator regarding the railroad transport only on the territory of the country. The national indicator on railroad transportation may be reported both for the territory of the country, as well as for the territory outside the country.

Method of computation

Passenger road = amount obtained by multiplying the number of passengers transported by mode of transport (air, road, railroad and river) * distance in km travelled by the respective passengers.
