Definition and concepts |
The constant defining criterion used to classify small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for statistical purposes is the average annual number of employees (According to Article 5, paragraph 2 of Law no. 179/2016 on Small and Medium Enterprises). The small and medium-sized enterprises sector includes enterprises with an average annual number of up to 250 employees (According to Article 4, paragraph 1, letter a) of Law no. 179/2016 on small and medium-sized enterprises). |
